Hello

I buy a new PC with a GA-MA790FX-DS5 Motherboard, AMD Phenom Quad-Core 2.30 GHz., 512 MB Video, 8 GB RAM. I'm using Windows Vista UIltimate and update BIOS to F3. The problem is, in My Computer (Properties) in system the CPU show 2.30 GHz, but when I'm using CPU-Z program show 1.30 Ghz. My PC is running at 2.30 or 1.30 GHz.? I find it a little slow for 8 GB of Ram and a quad core. If I'm running at 1.30 how can I solve this ? THanks

What does the BIOS say it is running at?

What kind of throttling controls are there in BIOS? What are the temps that it is running at, again, from the BIOS?

OK, sorry for take to long.

I use 2 programs CPU-Z and AMD Overdrive. Both Programs says my Phenom run at 1.40 Ghz (using Vista). I make a dual boot with XP and I use the 2 programs in XP and says my CPU run at 2.30 Ghz. So why my CPU run at 2.30 in XP and 1.40 on Vista ???????

What does it say in the BIOS?

Are there any power management controls in Vista?

Thanks MJC, thanks for the power management thing, the power management was "Balanced", when I change it to high performance CPU-Z detect 2.30 Ghz, AMD Overdirve detect 2.31.
