Hey Diurnal,
I'll watch for others answers on this. My mobo specs say that this is an option through setup in the BIOS. I figure it means that the computer either turns itself on when there is activity on the local network or at least cranks itself out of standby. I'm hoping there is a way to set all the computer in my network up with it. ya know, turn one on and the others all turn on too. Probably save me, oh two minutes or so. Lazy bugger that I am.....

Intel (http://www.intel.com/network/connectivity/resources/technologies/wake_on_lan.htm) has some info, IBM (http://www.networking.ibm.com/eji/ejiwake.html) has a good bit more, and a description of how it works. And Webopedia (http://webopedia.internet.com/TERM/W/Wake_on_LAN.html) has a good definition.

THanks Pete,
Hey Diurnal, try Pete's IBM suggestion. Has enough info. for someone of your savvy (I've read a bunch of your posts these past few months, you have the courage to get into stuff I'd never do) to probably get "hooked up." I don't think I'm going to bother with this now, but would be real interested in hearing about your success or findings if you attempt it.
Peace
