Random Restarts

My mate has been having some trouble with his PC. He's been doing things, playing games normally, and all of a sudden, his PC just restarts. He'll be sitting there, and his PC will just restart automatically. He doesn't think it's PC heat, because it did it about 20 minutes in a while back. It's a relatively new computer as well. The screen comes up as saying: Your computer did not shut down properly, if you want to start windows in safe mode, select below, upon restart. Also, it does not restart normally, with a shutdown screen. It just stops dead, and the screen goes blank.

(He's using Vista, and his computer is less than a month old.)

If you guys have any idea what is causing this, please help him out.

First of all even though you might think it's not heat check your temperatures anyway and post them here. Use speedfan to check them. You never know....

Also are you getting any blue screen when it restarts or it just go straight to black?

Do you guys know a quick way to check system specs without DLing anything?
