best free lan administration tool?

what's the best free lan admin tool available these days? i mean something which allows you to monitor all systems and view their screens by sitting at the admin machine. anyone got a tip? :rolleyes:

I use UltraVNC for remote desktop sessions. It's a free download and setup is pretty straightforward unless you're piping through a router and you have to change your port forwarding settings.

Unless you're talking about kibitzing somebody's screen without their knowledge. I think you can do that with Solar Winds but but it's certainly not a free download.

My mistake. It's not Solar Winds that does that. The program I was thinking of is called Dameware. Not sure if it's free.
