I assume you have looked around a bit and know that we don't have much trust in people who join and begin advertising their sites... Your site doesn't load in my protected computer and that suggests that it could be a trap... Even if it isn't, it is not appropriate for this forum... Please remove your link...

i didn't notice that, although i've been a silent member for many months and have certainly looked around.

my site is not a trap. maybe your protected computer is malfunctioning?

it is not appropriate for this forum... Please remove your link

can i replace it with one that is appropriate?

btw, this thread is going off to an inappropriate tangent - you could have simply sent me a PM.

Advertising is generally not okay... If you want to post a link to a site that is not advertising, that is up to you...

No, they are not... I removed your signature since you seem to be reluctant to do so... Please do not replace it...

i was in no hurry, but was quite willing to remove the link that you didn't like.

can u give me an example of a link that's not an advert?

PS any advice on the initial issue of a recommended LAN admin tool?

Did you look at the links in my signature??

I am splitting this discussion off to Bit Bucket, so it will not disturb your thread...

You can say whatever you want... However, they are links to tools and sites that help me with helping people on this site... None of them profit me in any way and they are not my sites...

Also, to clarify -- If you had established yourself as a helpful person on this forum with some earned trust, you might be able to post links to some sites that could be considered advertising... However, a new member posting to his/her own site is not likely to fly at any point...

not the least fair reasoning. although it's a bit discriminatory. i would trust everyone unconditionally to some extent and nobody beyond that extent irrespective of how much they sock up to the mods

Good for you!! The Internet is clearly a place that is safe and that people visit with only the best intentions... Where no one ever tries to get you to click on a link that might infect your computer or steal your personal information to steal everything you have... Where no predators lurk to take advantage of young children or gullible adults... You keep up that attitude and close your eyes to any reason why someone like you who comes here promoting his/her site and arguing over every little point with bad grammar might not be trustworthy unless he/she will "sock up" to the people responsible for keeping the forum safe...

While you are doing that and risking your own personal safety, I am going to close this thread since this is a pointless discussion... The forum is not a democracy and arguing this point will not lead to any change in your situation in the direction you seem to want it to...
