Just read the posts on the no beep and no video thread, and tried those suggestions out to no avail. My computer powers up, and all the fans spin, but I hear no audible beep from the motherboard with just a keyboard, mouse, monitor (attached via a VGA to DVI converter), and power cord plugged in.

I assembled my computer with a 2.33Ghz Core 2 Duo (Model BX80557E6550) on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L motherboard (with 2GB RAM, DVD-ROM, Nvidia XFX GeForce 8600GT, and an 80GB Hard drive). When the system powers on (all cables are connected correctly) there is no system beep and no video output, but all the fans spin up (Case fan, Power supply's fan, processor's fan, and video card's fan).

I initially thought it could be a motherboard malfunction, so I exchanged that for a different model, with the same issue occurring. I am sure that my monitor and video card are installed properly, and all components are installed properly.

I believe that no system beep may indicate a processor failure, yet I assured it was correctly placed in the socket LGA775. Any ideas as to what may be causing my issues? (No system beep, no video output) Has my processor failed? If so, what are my options for an exchange/repair through Intel?

Anyone have any idea as to what might be the culprit here?

is the computer brand new?

also, when you remove the memory, (just have a PSU, Motherboard, and CPU installed, does it POST[beep])? [barebones boot]

hello SalFerraro welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

what monitor do you have...?

one system beep and fans spinning usually means all ok..

maybe your video card or the cable to your monitor or the setting on the monitor not set to digital

Its a Dell 15 inch Flat panel on AGP. I am using the included AGP to DVI converter. I took the RAM out, and still no beeps.

1. "I hear no audible beep from the motherboard...I took the RAM out, and still no beeps"
Have you ever heard any beeps, or any sound, from the internal speaker?
Do you know whether there is indeed an internal speaker and whether it works?

2. If you have heard sounds from the internal speaker, and believe it works...
Then the fact that no beeps are generated with all this hardware connected could mean that either...
(a) The POST doesn't even begin to run.
OR...
(b) The POST begins to run but halts on some failed POST test...
[that is designed to generate no beep][on some (perhaps not strictly necessary) item of hardware]...
before the point at which the video is initialised.

3. Better to test with the bare minimum, so...
Connect only:
PSU, mobo, CPU+heatsink+fan, internal speaker
Have the mobo out of the case on a non-conducting surface.
To Startup, momentarily short the on-switch pins on the mobo.
If you want to try running with the default BIOS configuration settings [and also eliminate the effects of a bad CMOS battery], temporarily REMOVE the CMOS battery [run with none for the time being].

i had the same issue (or close to it) recently and it turned out to be the video card. had no beep because the system board was functioning correctly. went to a generic PCI express and found no issues. the system was running fine just couldnt see due to no luck with a doa card....
