If anyone is interested, I can write a tutorial on how to install DOS and set it up correctly for M$ Virtual PC. Here's a screenie of me running it with internet access.

123456, I hope this does not come across as rude, but WHY? In the years that I have known you here, you have always had an interest in the older OS and systems. I think that is great that you have an appreciation for where all of this came from ;) Your desire to learn and explore is refreshing. Keep up the good work. But I still gotta wonder why would anybody want to use DOS on purpose? :D :D

OH, by the way. I love the desktop on that Vista machine

I can answer that one

DOS is fast, clean , and outperforms windows EVERY day of the week
BTW..
Have you run any large Old dos programs on todays hardware ?

Autocad 386 ( YES I said 386 ) runs like nothing you have ever seen on a modern cpu
Wordperfect 5 or 6 is Booted up,running and Printing Before Windoz gets past the splash screen

These are only a few of the Dos programs I still have and USE when I am in a hurry
Dual booting makes it easy
Without the Need for the "M$ Virtual PC" BS

Note MY Dos screen/window :)

I like to use DOS on a virtual machine mainly for experimentation. I wish I could find my old games I used to have... *sigh*

the worst part about it... is that you can not get some DOS based games to run in XP, even though there great games....

I found DOSbox to work on all the games I used to like, through I can't play full screen.
