Whenever I perform a shut down of my PC,there is no signal indicating that "It's now safe to shut your computer" which all computers have.May I know what has happened and how to rectify it.Thank you for your advice.

Hi Eric,
Ya know... my first computer had win95 installed on it and I used to get that message when I shut down. My present computer has win98 installed on it and I don't get that message.
Is it causing you a problem?
Which os are you useing?

Eric,
Some more details on your OS and perhaps your computer would be helpful. Be that as it may, unless you feel that you computer is not shutting down properly, this may not be a big concern. Many newer computers will shut themselves down automatically when you exit Windows. They can shut themselves down so quickly that the "shut down" screen (It is Now Safe...) is not visible. This may not be the answer you are seeking but hang around there are many more capable geeks at this forum than little ole me.
Good Luck,
ER
