Hello My name is Ray AKA the Drill Sergeant:) . I am a personal fitness trainer with a site which caters to my clients. I have been attempting to work with some affiliate programs to offer my clients exercise equipment, supplemnts etc... for some reason, everytime i go to an application page or other administrative pages they don't show up on the screen..The page loads but shows nothing. When I right click it shows taht the page is there but like i said, NADA! Seems all these pages have the same thing in common! They won't let me see them. HELP! I have XP home version and using microsoft internet explorer...I appreciate anything any of you can do for me. In fact, I am in New York City, if you are also & help me I may be convinced to give you a couple of free sessions for youe help!

It is not clear if you are a SPAMmer or not, but posting active links to your site in your first post with your email address sure looks like SPAM and is not allowed here... If you are legit, anyone helping you can use the modified links to do so...

hmm... do you mean that you can't "see" or edit your webpage on your "server" (the PC that is hosting the page)?

couple things. The first is did you actually make the websites? If so, what language? A few languages need to actually be tested off of your computer, you need to upload them, or use a program to do so for testing.

If you did not make the website, then get the contact information for the webmaster of the site, and let him know something is wrong. It sounds more like a problem on his end more then your end. It couldn't hurt to clean your Cache first though. To do that, go to tools, delete browsing history, and then choose to delete temperary internet files. (instructions were for I.E. 7, other browsers are similar to take care of.)

From a site visitor standpoint, it looks like all the pages on both sites are displaying properly, so the problems seems to be on the hosting side of things.

About the only thing I can suggest is to try a different browser...FireFox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/) or Opera (http://www.opera.com/).

If the admin pages use some kind of scripting, then there may be an error on the hosts side of things that is preventing the pages from rendering in IE. Using a different browser will help narrrow that down.

Also, if you have any kind of script blocking/security setup on IE you may need to 'whitelist' the hosting service's admin pages...

right clicking on what folder?

i meant to open the network folder- inside that folder is an icon (looks like a computer with lines going to it)- right click on that icon and select repair... or if it is disabled, right click and "enable"
(the folder is called "network connections")

I believe that isn't his problem Ajmukon. If I understand correctly, he can access other sites normally, right DrillSergeant? To report that the website isn't working right you have to call, email, comunicate with the person/company that owns the site. If it is needed for what you do, then it is worth taking the time to contact them, but you may want to search for something else that does something similar.

Are you using FTP through the browser and see the pages in the FTP site but cannot load them in a browser? I'm not sure what your problem is. A website has a root folder. If you add a page to your website you need to put it in the root folder. If you add test.asp in your root folder, to bring up the page you would go to mydomain.com/test.asp.

Let me explain further guys! First, Thanks for all the offers of help, I really appreciate it! O.K. here it goes. The site that I am trying to access is an affiliate site. I am able to get into the site itself, but when I go to the application page I can see a quick flash of the app. and then I just have a blank screen that claims it's done loading. I went to a Cafe' and finished the process there, got approved and was sent the link to the codes, I needed to add to my fitness website. Went there from this Pc and yup, you guessed it, got the blank page again!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr! This pc is a ground up project but I am not a whiz like you guys! I am good at what I do as you guys are at what you do. Let me know what info you need and how I can get it! I have a feeling I may be missing some software or card that is preventing me from gaining access to these pages... Here is the actual site url. When you go to the application section of the site you should see an app. I don't! HELLLLLLP!!!! Thanx Guys.....

on your computer
uninstall JAVA (go to control panel>add/remove programs.. and find JAVA on the list and click uninstall- it may be labled as "JRE- some numbers"- you may have more than one- uninstall them all)
go to www.JAVA.com and install the latest JAVA code

also,go to www.adobe.com
and navigate to the "downlaods section"

Install FLASH Player (9 i think)
and Install Macromedia Shockwave player. (after flash is installed- you will need to come back to this site after restarting the web-browser)

Also check to see if your computer is installing "active x controls"
(in internet Explorer, i bar at the top would say something like "xxxx (address of website) website wants to install some Avctive X controls... allow?)

THESE ARE THE ONLY programs that you would need to run 90% of all online media (and they are updated regularly)

if this does not work...
it is either a little used Web app..
or
something deeper is wrong.

A HighJack This! log maybe in order....

Can you use other websites? (do what you want with the other sites, not replace the sites.) It could just be a problem with their site. Try sending the company/webmaster who owns it an email.

Have you tried using opera or firefox as mjc suggested?

but when I go to the application page
It's not clear where or which this is - (notwithstanding earlier comments about spam) could you post its specific URL so that we can check it out - it can always be munged or the active link removed from it if deemed necessary. Links can be excluded from URLs by posters by unchecking "Automatically parse links in text" in the Go Advanced replies to threads.

The home pages of both urbanbodyworksnyc and bootcampchallengenyc load OK in both Firefox and IE from here. Both use frames and javascript freely. If you know how to reach the framed content (easiest done with opera) and still get a blank page you might check to see if you can view the source code. If the code is there it would seem likely that javascript (nothing to do with java) is disabled.

All pages OK with both IE7 and Firefox. Suggest you try Firefox.
