built new system plugged everything in correct
but cpu fan wont go round, its plugged in to the board, motherboard works
and cpu heats up but fan dont go round........Steg

First could you give more info about your hardware.One thing it could be is check the cmos on the motherboard, make sure its on keep data instead of clear data. Also unplug all your drives and see if the fan will spin , (molex connectorshard drive connector,floppy,cdrom). Try these things and post back

Hi Steg,
Has this fan been tested to be sure it works? Have you tested for correct voltage at the pinset for the fan connection? Are you certain you are on the correct fan pinset?
More system info might help us here.Mobo, CPU, fan model.etc...

Whatever you do, don't run it more than baout 5 seconds without a working fan. Most newer high speed AMD chips and probably Intels as well can be destroyed by heat in 10 seconds or less if run without fans. It's not good for older ones under about 500MHz either, anything under about 233MHz or so can handle it for a minute or so without problems.
