The specs are in my siggy, (The 1GHz PC). Files download much slower than ones on the other computers. I tried connecting a laptop to the internet from where this PC is with the ethernet cable and it flew. XP's event log says, "TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts." What's up with this?
Network card= Realtek RTL8029(AS) PCI
Looks like you have updated the 1.0 GHz machine with the XP update that limits concurrent connections...

If that indeed is the case, the limit is instituted by XP SP2. Here is an article explaining the issue and how to automatically or manually increase the number of TCP concurrent connections. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING BACKUP YOUR CURRENT TCPIP.SYS FILE!!!!!!!!!
