Ok, I have my pagefile on its own partition on a separate HD for whatever performance increase this provides, and I have set the minimum and maximum size as the same quantity...

Here's the question: I have 768MB of RAM, so how often is my pagefile even going to be used?

When I check task manager, the highest I've ever seen my memory usage was around 200mb...so is this all the RAM I'm using, or is my pagefile being used while I still have plenty of RAM left?

And if the system is using my pagefile while I still have lots of physical RAM left, how can I force Windows 2000 to use the RAM first?

I can't seem to find any useful info on this anywhere, hoping someone here can help, thanks

Hello Hired,
If I'm not mistaken, the use of the pagefile is automatic when RAM is exceeded. You can adjust the amount of virtual memory but I dont think can need to control when it is used. If I am incorrect, this is something I would like to know as well.
With 768Mb, I don't think you will ever use it http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif

If I tell you to think for yourself, then you're not doing it.
