hey again guys,

I posted a while ago regarding a computer I may be buying, but I've decided to go against that now, but anyway, I would like your opinion on some things.

Firstly, I want a computer that can play games well (but not games like crysis on max settings; low would be fine, medium even better), secondly, a computer good for handling lots of things at the same time i.e video editing, photoshop, and a video capture card etc. (so I guess thats a lot of RAM). And thirdly, something that isn't TOO expensive, around £700 if possible.

So far I have come up with this:
Q6600 quad core 2.4 ghz
4 GB 667 MHz ram (could get 800 MHz for an extra £30)
256mb 8600 GTS
640GB hardrive
-Possibly some sort of Video Capture card, don't know alot about this-

Total: £680 inc VAT

Got any other suggestions/feedback? Let me know, please!

p.s will the 256mb 8600 be sufficient? or does it really suck? :P

Get a better video card. Up until just recently, the Radeon HD 3870 would have been the best choice, but now I would say to go with the new GeForce 9600GT. It will noticeably outperform the 8600GTS for most games.

Get the 800mHz RAM.

Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with video capture cards so I can't help you much with that.

ATI video capture cards are pretty good, for around $100 (US)
and, i would get the 3870 GPU. it supports FULL HDMI out/IN
