Norton av not compatible with gmail-help!

Long story short, Norton antivirus only works with ports (POP3) 110 and (SMTP) 25 for email scanning. gmail works on (POP3) 995 and (SMTP) 465. Since my dishmail has merged with Google, I need av programs that supports gmail ports. I have searched high and low with no luck. Any recommendations. I still want to use outlook express as client since gmail web site is not to our liking.

You can configure gmail in both OE and in Thunderbird and also in other mail clients.

AFAIK AVG protects these configurations - I cant believe that Norton would let stuff though though it may well not scan the mail contents "by proxy server", which used to be the default way that it worked.
