Hi, I have a PC with 1GB of DDR2 800 memory and want to upgrade my video card. My question is that I see many cards listed as DDR2 and many better deals that are listed as DDR3, does the board memory and the card memory need to be the same or can I go ahead and get a DDR3 card? Thanks

No, the memory on your video card doesn't have anything at all to do with system memory. A modern video card is essentially a second computer that you plug into the motherboard...it has its own processor, memory controller, memory and buses...

well, the only two things you have to make sure when buying a new video card is:
1) Will it FIT in my PC
2) Can i power it with my current power supply?
