I run into this simple issue.i bought this new dvd drive(sata) in order to replace my older also i changed my motherboard(GA-mma770-ds3/s3)... to make short the story everything was running fine until i got to the point of install the a new OS, i placed the xp cd and start booting once it ask me to press any key to boot from the cd drive i pressed the key to start loading the cd but when it jumped to the next window it just stay on black and wont do anything. i though it could be the cd of xp so i tryed hirens cd, the funny thing here is once it load the menu and try to read the drive again hirens software wont recognise the cd drive. im not really familiar with sata devices to be honest and the only thing i can load is vista because linux,xp, or other kind of boot cd wont be recognise the dvd drive once it read it for second time.:eek:
