Out of nowhere, there are no files in my WMP library. It comes up with a blank page saying: There are no items in this library yet - the Player is searching for digital media files in the background. Click Here to add files to the library now.
However, when I click it and go to the add files page, I browse for the directory, as I have always had it, and select ok. It should start adding the files, but the add files page just goes away without adding anything. When I go back to the page, the directory info I had just put in is gone. So I just can't add items.

Also, I can't even select burn media, it is grayed out. I have a blank disk, a new dvd/cd burner, but can't get it to come up.

Thanks in advance.

Ya, I actually already used that, but no luck. This is getting very aggravating, because I use wmp, it is like I have no music.

Try dragging the media from a folder and seeing if it recognizes it. Since you currently don't have media in the first place in the program, it can't hurt to try re-installing it either. What version do you have? Is it the most recent one, WMP 11? or some other version?

Dragging and dropping won't work, though it will still play media. I have version 11 and have tried reinstalling.

do your files exist in a central folder? (i.e. my music) or do they exist all over your computer. Windows has a big problem with the songs being spread through out the computer (it can also be hard on the computer too, or so I understand from a class I've had.)
