First post, hope I am in right forum. I have an emachines T6212. Yesterday I upgraded my ram from 2gig to 4 gig. It is only showing 2.75 gig in system properties. Show 4 gig in bios. Now with all I have read, this is just the way it is with 32 bit xp, which is what I have. Or is it worth the time to remove all 4 sticks of ram and reinstall the new ram one at a time to find out if one is defective ? In the last year I have installed a nvidia 8600 gt, an extra hard drive, low end sound blaster audigy se card and 430w power supply. I also have an external hard drive. Thought I would ask first before I start removing ram. Thanks.
