I'm on a laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium and I've made 3 custom power schemes that I'll probably be using quite frequently, let's call them Plan 1, Plan 2, and Plan 3. The laptop came with the three default plans (Balanced, Power Saver, and High Performance), and an HP created plan called HP Recommended.

I'd like to put my 3 custom plans into the 3 slots that show up in the power meter when you click on it. Currently I've been able to replace Slot 1 with HP Recommended, Slot 2 with Plan 2, and Slot 3 with Plan 3. So I'd like to get Plan 1 into Slot 1 but I'm not sure how to put it in HP Recommended's place. Is there any way to do this without creating another plan that is based off of HP Recommended?

Also, I've got some power plans such as an old custom one and HP Recommended that I'd like to just delete. I've made sure that neither are in use nor are they locked 'default' plans, but I can't seem to get rid of them. When I press 'delete this plan', the window simply flashes for a second and nothing happens. :(

I would have to say first you need to be logged in as Administrator
and make sure it is understood the change is for All users that way

Second the profiles may be written in the registry and would require you to edit or delete them from there first

Where would I find that in the registry?

I'm on the only account (an administrator).
