Games for Windows-LIVE

What's going with it? Will it be standard for now on. I mean will I be able to play Cross-platform games on the fly from my PC (xbox broke) to my friends Xbox. Or have the fogotten about it. I think its kind of cool if you already have a LIVE account.

I've used Games for Windows LIVE on my laptop with Halo 2 and I have to say that I was really impressed. You can even go into private chat with people on their Xbox just as though you're on one yourself, which is awesome. It'd be a disapointment if they just dropped the concept. As it is now it seems like they aren't making a huge effort to keep it alive though--it's only supported on Shadowrun and Halo 2 PC as far as I know, and neither of those have fantastic online communities.
