Okay I got my old desktop working so instead of building a whole new one I was wondering if I could upgrade it into a mean pixel electricity eating machine(i highly doubt it)
on the sticker it says 300wpsu8868Dmotherboard
which doesnt make much sense to me is that the model number of the motherboard or the psu or does it just say motherboard for no reason there lol
intel pentium 4 processor 3.06 ghz 533 fsb w/ 512kb cache
also 2 1 gigs of ram not shure exact specs (PC2700 DDR333 2*256mb originally)
ati x800 gt
ide 80gb 7200rpm ata
a cd reader writer and a dual layer dvd burner
sound blaster live 24 bit
windows xp pro
keep in mind its 3 years old.
soo is it upgradable anyway I can get sli? have to start from scratch? all help would be great cause im having a hard decision here upgrade my computer build a new one or just go and waste my money on a expensive camera lol, which right now im getting the camera unless someone convinces me otherwise but that's why i'm here :)

nope, probably not worth upgrading, but it would make a killer lunix server.

okay- i vote dream computer:

X38 mobo, intel core 2 E8400

700W PSU thermaltake, any full ATX case (personal preference)

8800GT 512MB (min- go to the 8800Ultra if you want better performance)

Windows Vista if it is games your after, XP otherwise, (i would make this a dedicated game machine and the other one a server machine)

The limit is going to be the motherboard...

Yes, it would make a real nice Linux box. In fact it wouldn't make to shabby of a dedicated HTPC, either...it is also still viable as an XP office/work machine...it just won't hold up to rigors of gaming or serious music/video production (playback...yeah).
