SMTP/POP and Email?

Hi Every1,

Just wanted to know a bit more about these if any1 knows.

I know that the POP or POP3 protocol is used to suck mail from my ISP to my computer.

But when I am sending mail from my computer to another person, does my e-mail program, upload it my ISP's server and from use SMTP to send it to the dest server?? Or does my computer use SMTP to upload it to the ISP and then the ISP uses SMTP to upload it to another server??

Am I on the right track, can any1 say??
