Trying to load windows XP pro form clean install in a computer of one of my church members. Changed setup in bios to load from CD rom. But I get a message sayin "Boot from Atapi CD no emulation"
I Cant figure what it means.

Is the cd purchased or is it a burned version? Did you put the cd in tray and then restart computer? btw "No emulation" is a prompt, not an error. It indicates a bootable CD without emulation

Floppy Emulation vs no Floppy Emulation (http://www.infocellar.com/CD/Boot-CD.htm).

Sylvander, thanks for the link. And to answer the other replies, this is a purchased CD not a burned or copy. So after getting the no emulation what do you do next, because that was where everything stopped.

Been rather busy. :(
Will study this further ASAP.
Had a look on the web for info and couldn't find a clear single cause.
1. SOME SUGGESTIONS WERE...
(a) BIOS incapable of booting from optical drives.
(b) Optical disk not in the particular optical drive that is being booted.
i.e. Two optical drives, and disk is in the wrong drive.
Is the disk the right way up?
(c) Faulty drive.
(d) Faulty disk.
2. How about using a DOS boot floppy to [navigate to and] run the Windows Setup DOS exe file
...\i386\WINNT.EXE
Does DOS see the contents of the optical disk?
