I've inherited half a dozen Athlon CPU's. They are probably old ones, socket A's, between 1 and two mhzs.

Nobody really wants PC's made up with these little ones in, but I was wondering if there was a project whereby I could use , say, two of them at a time. Has visions of a *dual cpu motherboard*

Without being rude....anybody got an ideas what I could do with these, short of a) sending them to a cpu museum or b) chucking 'em out ?

What exactly do you have?

Any matched pairs?

Not sure, I will have to get the old glass out and have a look. I'll post up the numbers tomorrow.

What are you thinking mjc ?

Depending on what they are, you can find dual Athlon boards around, fairly cheaply and they can build a machine that, while it won't win any benchmarks for modern games, can still perform adequately in most tasks...especially under Linux.

But you need matched pairs to do it.
