I have been reading again. In the section hardware conflicts it says to move to differant IRQ. I have no problems it seems my computer did a good job of IRQ management. But have do you move to differant IRQ and how does it work?

with older legacy devices you could change the irqs , but in the new plug and pray , there is no way you can change the irqs, windows wont let you. the only way is to put a card in a different slot. See you andy, nice talking to last night

Hey Andy,
On some of your devices you can change the IRQ and the I/O settings in device manager. When you look at properties on a perticular device, check the Resources tab. There will be a dialog box that shows one or all of the following, I/O range, Interupt Request #, and Memory Range.
You will need to uncheck the "Automatic settings" box to be able to change anything and then you will still be somewhat limited.
Should be enogh to get you out of a jamb. You may need to change the settings on the device you are conflicting with due to limited adjustments on the new one.
And this works on newer systems as well. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

On some mother boards you can force a specific IRQ to a specific PCI or ISA slot. I have had to do this on my Novell Network class computer to get it to accept 5 nic cards.
