how much do you have to spend?

hmmm small time gamer does that means he plays newer games like crysis/COD 4/UT 3 (etc) and expects them to look good the few times he plays them or he plays old games like CS:S and is not that bothered about graphics?

Graphics? If it has on-board graphics most games will not even run on it!!!

Solitare and mine sweaper are about the only games that you will be able to play.

Those specs are from a 4~5 year old PC and I wouldn't give more then $50-$100 for it. If I had that PC it would be a good candidate to give away to the kid down the street or use it as a Linux box.

My 4 year old laptop will play games better.
