Can anyone please help I have an Acer RC500 that sometimes runs perfect then all of a sudden it will shut down and when you press the power button to re start it won't power up, after maybe a day you try it again and bingo it powers up and runs maybe for a month maybe for 3 seconds.
Many Thanks in advance
The first two things to always suspect in cases like this...heat and power problems.
Make sure that everything inside is clean...that means fans/grills/screens/etc have unimpeded airflow...not covered in dust/cat hair/other unidentifiable 'stuff'. Open the case and do the same for the inside, paying particularly close attention to the CPU fan/heatsink combo.
The next would be a failing power supply. The easiest way to test is to swap it with a known good, probably higher wattage, one. All OEM power supplies are considered 'low end' and are basically just barely enough to get by when brand new with no add-ons. If you have added anything, including more memory, you could be pushing the PSU to its limits...

Many thanks for the fast response i think it may be the power supply so i will look at replacing the power supply first
