I just purchased some new parts to build a custom pc.
XFX nForce 680i LT SLI Socket 775 Motherboard
Intel Quad Core Kentsfield 2.4Ghz Q6600 CPU
OCZ Vista Upgrade Edition 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MH
THERMALTAKE RSI Socket 775 CPU Cooler
RAIDMAX AZTEC ATX-619WUP Black/ Blue SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply
I had a pioneer 112d burner, 500gb sata hdd, and xfx 8600gt pci-e vid card
Now I installed everything, and the system powers on, i just dont get an video signal\9or the customary beep upon start up like i usually have with other pc's i own).
I cant figure what is wrong.
I put the hdd, vid card and burner back in my odld system and it boots up fine.
Anyone know what the issue could be before i go take it to a shop only to find out it was something minor?
Dont wanna waste money if i dont have to.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot

Welcome to the forum

Beep on startup is your board; I'll check later but does your new board even have a speaker on it?
EDIT: just checked at Tiger and I don't see a speaker on the XFX they advertise. Visually confirm with your board please.

Check the power usage of the parts you've installed; you may have reached your limit. Video card could require direct feed to the PSU to operate because you have new stuff running on what amounts to a small PSU...or you just flat out don't have enough juice w/ a 500W PSU.
