I just bought a new computer that has a port on the front labeled "firepin", and another port 1324. I don't know what either of these are for. Can someone please enlighten me?

Are you sure it's not Firewire and 1394

Hello SizzleO and welcome,
If these ports are labled as Rond36 asked, which I suspect is accurate, they are most often used for transfering video and stills from a camera to the PC. There are a few other devices out that use the "FireWire" connection which is built on the "IEEE 1394" standards.
The reason they are on the front is to give easier access when plugging in these divices. No crawling on hands and knees under your desk in the dark http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Hope this helps
