CPU question

what will run faster, an intel core 2 duo at 1.66ghz or an amd turion 64-2 at 2.0ghz, will there be that much of a difference, is it noticable?? thanks guys

2.0 ghz is faster than 1.6 ghz, period, obviously. As far as which chip is more efficient... the intel chip will most likely give you much better performance.

Your talking mobile chips here. When it comes to laptops you have to consider the whole platform and not just the chip. Intel has had this in the bag for a very long time now.

I am not opposed to buying a laptop with an AMD chip in it, but many that I see have SiS chipsets for some reason. :( SiS is one the most horrible chipsets ever made in my opinion. I have seen some that just refuse to play certain games. Many compatibility issues with SiS.

Intel is a hands down winner in the laptop department. The entire platform is so much better. They have better boards, chipsets, wireless etc... the whole thing is better. ;)
