I NEED TO ADD MORE MEMORY RIGHT NOW I HAVE 64MB I WOULD LIKE TO ADD ADDITIONAL 256MB ABOVE THE 64MB WHAT TYPE OF MEMORY DO I NEED TO BUY FOR MY COMPAQ PRESARIO MODEL 7594 AND IS IT HARD TO INSTALL?

youll probably need pc100 memory but check the manufacturer site, to make sure what type of ram you need.Yes it probably one of the easy things to install on a cpu.
Go here www.crucial.com (http://www.crucial.com) and they will show how to install ram and probably have your model of compaq

Just select compaq on the memory selector, hit the down arrow, the hit the down arrow to find what model and then what type/

You don't necessarily need PC100 memory. As far as I know, PC133 memory is compatible with systems that only support PC100. Of course, it will run at 100 instead of 133, but since it usually doesn't cost more than PC100, you should get that in case you want to put it in a machine that supports PC133 at some point.
