Hi,
Need to know what leads I need to connect my laptop to a TV.
The TV has no scart or AV sockets, just the aerial socket, a few years old I'm afraid.
I want to view a program on the TV from BBCi before it expires.
Can I connect the laptop via a video recorder (connected to the TV) if not directly to the TV?

Thanks

You can. The available connections on your VCR are important though. Many VCRs have RCA inputs, which you can connect to your laptop using Composite video and L/R RCA audio jacks. Then just connect the 75-ohm coax "TV Out" or "Signal Out" on your VCR to the "TV In" on your television.

If your VCR doesn't have auxiliary inputs you're in trouble. Keep in mind that you're if you are able to connect your notebook to your TV via your laptop, the picture quality will be pretty dismal. It should be tolerable for viewing videos, but for typical navigation on your PC's desktop, you'll be very disappointed.

Even directly connecting native S-Video from notebook to television is usually to low quality for reasonable use. In my experience it's only good enough to get a movie started so you can watch it.
