Anybody knows which protokoll makes a router capable of understanding that an incoming packes destination is located in another subnet to which the router is connected to?
The IP Header doesn´t have a field for the subnet mask, so how is it done ?

I know this is not the perfect place to post this request, but i´m perfectly happy with tips for good discussion forums on networking associated topics (should be as good as "the pc-guide" - which i have to say is very nice and helpful to use).

Best regards
