Hey there, sorry if this has been asked a hundred times before - I did a search and couldn't find a result for my specific question.

I recently bought a laptop (w/ Vista) and my trial version of Office 2007 is running out in a couple days.

I'm trying to save a few bucks and have an idea I want to run by the experts.

My wife has a copy of Office 2003, and I wonder if I could install that on my new computer and then just purchase the Upgrade to Office 2007 instead of the whole thing.

I'm assuming I will have to completely uninstall the trial version of '07 prior to installing '03 - is this true?

Any other things I should know or be considering?

Thanks for the help!

The MS Office license allows it to be installed on two PCs so installing your wifes 03 and upgrading it to 07 should not be a problem. You could even upgrade your wifes install to 07 while you are at it. You are ok as long as a single license is not used on more then two PCs

If it is the Home and Student Edition it allows instalation on three PCs
