Hello, I've just upgraded with an AMD2 4800 processor that is supposed to be 2.6GHZ and have it on a Biostar TF560 A2+ MB. Everything is running fine, however I installed a game Battlefield 2142 and it has a system check that shows your operating system specs and (pass or fail). Everything checked ok except the CPU speed which was showing .9939GHZ and said game minimum requirement is 1.7GHZ. Is there another way to check what the actual CPU speed is?

Sure. You can check with software such as Everest Home Edition, or you can see it at startup in BIOS/post message.

You probably have CPU throttling turned on and the CPU dropped down to 1GHz in order to save power when not needed.

CPUZ is a great little free program to see all your CPU info. It will show what speed it is supposed to be and what it is currently at.

Thanks guys, I'll try the programs. Dosen't the Bios post page just show the type of CPU, not the actual running speed?

It should show the clock speed, FSB, and memory speed as well. But it is often going by too fast to take it all in. You can also go into the BIOS and see everything in there in various places.
