Tivo to PC

I have tivo and its all hooked up right! i can download from tivo to my pc any movie that i get on tivo, but after downloading a movie to the PC i can't watch the movie on the pc, can anyone help with advice as to what i might need or am i doing sometinig wrong?

Do you know what format it is being saved in on the TIVO? Do you have the proper codecs to be able to view that format on your PC? Or, there's some type of copy protection...?? I'm just going with the basics since I'm not familiar with TIVO.

So do you have that TIVO (:confused:) box thingy and recorded to PC?

if so what is the file format?

i like to use VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html) player it plays 99% of media files and its free
