Ok i almost have my rig compete.

Im wanna game with this mostly except a few a minor video editing , ( Nothing Major) and some music stuff...

I have a moniter in mind, 22 inch samsung with 2ms response time...

Thats is my main choice....

But i actually wanna go 24 inch or even maybe 26, but i dont see any moniters with 2-3 ms response time at that size that fits into my budget...

I do see a plethera of moniters with 5 - 8 ms response time....

I tried googling whats a good reponse time, but all i can find are forums from 2005 saying a good gaming lcd is anything under 20ms , soo i know thats not acurate..

My question is, would 2ms to 5ms really be such a change where i would notice it, or could i get away with it...

I currently have a Nec crt thats 20 inch, but i need to move my comp into a diffrent room and i want a flat screen soo it dosent take up much desk space... I never owned a lcd before in my life time... Soo this is complete noob field for me

Any comments will be appreciated ....

Thanks in advance

5ms would be the lowest I'd go, although some say they get away with 8ms (which not too long ago was the best response time)

What you could/should do is buy a 24 in at best buy and see if the response time is good enough, and return it if your games suffer.

i would recommend 5ms.

anything less (ie, 2ms) would increase the price to astronomical proportions.

and i get away with 8ms and do not notice. (mine is an old Dell LCD)

I would take the extra 2" of screen space over the lower response time any day when you are talking 5ms and 2ms. 5ms is pretty good. I have an 8ms and notice a little ghosting on occasion with fast moving white objects over a dark background. But it's minimal, especially with so many games these days being so dark anyway. My kids have a 5ms and I don't notice any ghosting at all.
