View Full Version : Firefox Noscript & Javascript
I'm at a lose how to make sure either Javascript and/or Flashplayer is active. I've gotten the alert below.
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player."
I have installed the most recent Flash Player, having to exit Firefox.
Firefox > Options > Tools - Enable Java Script (Also enable Java) is checked.
~ Much Thanks ~

Have you "allowed" the site in NoScript?

Yes, I’ve allowed Youtube. There is however, an allow alert (I have no idea what this is.) “ytimg.com”
The following appears at the btm left corner of Firefox.
I'm new to NoScript, so I'm pretty cautious right now.
~ Thanks ~

ad site for youtube.
a page has several pages loading with it, and many of them are ad sites.
Noscript specifically does not allow those sites to run any script on that page, while youtube is allowed to run scripts

When you are not sure whether it is a good one to allow, or which one to allow to get the results you are looking for, make good use of the temporarily allow feature. Then if it isn't the one you want you can revoke temp permissions. Or if it is what you wanted you can revoke, then hit allow so you don't have to worry about it again next time you visit the site.
Glad to hear you have decided to use NoScript. It does a take couple of weeks to get used to it, but after that it's no problem. And it really does make a huge difference in security.

The ytimg.com is from YouTube, temporarily allow both and the clip should appear.
