Im having a spot of bother getting the correct resolution and desktop size when I have my new PC with the ASUS EN8800 768MB GTX grapfic card connected to my 43" Pioneer plasma. I am running 64Bit XP Professional.
The nVidia control panel picks up my display and I can see the desktop but the desktop is slightly larger than the actuall screen and I cant seem to set it exactly right.
I have ran the control panel and messed with the manual settings for setting the resolution and it only seems to allow me to adjust to settings I dont want, and when I do set it to a res I want the Test fails "error" like its an incorrect config I have put in. At moment its set to 1280x768 and it just goes off the screen. If I alter it to 1260x740 and run the test in the nvidia control panel it just prompts me with "test failed".
Any ideas!!!

Also the O/S sets the output to 740i, if I change it to 1920x820 I thnk it is the TV says the input is 1150i, which is what I want but again the desktop is not clear and again just of the screen!!! but ok to wwatch from my Bluray DVD drive in the PC. So at the moment I have to keep changing the dsiply when I want to watch a bluray movie.

Is there a way to automatically change or a hotkey to press to change the required resolution from 1280x768 to 1920x820?

Has anyone got any experience with one of these graphic cards?

Is your TV 1080i or 1080p if 1080i the most you can usually get is 1366 x 768 (in your case 1280 x 768) were as 1080p you will get the full 1920 x 1080...

Apparently it displays 1080i, but reading about the two (1080i v 1080p) you cant see any difference really using the naked eye.

Thing is I can alter my res to a higher pixel res and does display in 1125i which looks great when playing HD\Bluray through the bluray drive, but the desktop looks awfull. At the moment I need to keep converting back to 1024 x 768, when using the PC and again even this is slightly to big for my screen.

I will update to the latest driver from ASUS and see if that makes a difference!!

That's a Nvidia based card, right?

Have you tried the divers from nVidia?

Yes it is a nVidia based card and no have not tried the nVidia drivers yet just the ones that came with the card.

The TV is a Pioneer plasma 43" model: PDP436sxe

Thanks
