then do not get a 8400 or a 2400.
they can barely play todays games at 20 frames per second. (or less)
get a 8800M if you want to play any games.

Gaming on laptops is very expensive indeed. The best you can hope for gaming on laptops within a reasonable budget is mediocre at best. If you really want to game I would suggest a desktop. If you need a laptop then you are going to have to settle for the best your budget will allow.

Or a desktop for gaming and a cheap laptop for doing school work/work is an alternative.

Actually like I mentioned that im not currently a hardcore gamer. But shall be travelling around for my further studies so i definatly need a laptop. Talking about games, rite now its just counter strike which basically any graphic card can play. But I love games and later probably i could hook myself up wid some true gaming experience.

Nvidia always. they Always outperform equivalent ATI cards in benchmarks. I don't see any reason anyone should ever buy an ATI card.

two or three years ago, ATI was better, but right now.....

ATI was better? Damn, I must have missed out on that :)

I've always been an Nvidia person myself.
Don't worry though, AMD and ATI have released their new spider platform, setting a precendent for inferior technology companies to merge together and then go bankrupt as quickly as possible ;)
