Also there is nothing on my desktop just the wallpaper I cant even see the task bar.

The only way i can access a program is through windows task manager.

How to set the path in Windows 2000 / Windows XP. (http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000549.htm)

Can't think how you're going to correctly set the path variable if you can't access your PC's system properties page.

My own Win2000Pro msvcrt.dll file is located in the C:\WINNT\system32 folder and that folder is included in the path statement held in the registry key...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Environment
Entry name = Path
Data value = %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\Sy stem32\Wbem;"C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\MailFrontier";C:\Program Files\Smart Projects\IsoBuster

The item in bold = %SystemRoot%\system32 is what you need included in your registry methinks.
You'd need to add that by editing the registry from outside of Windows.
I've never yet done that.
