Audio Issues With Dell Latitude D610

Hello, I have a Dell Latitude D610 Laptop that has a Centrino 1.6GHz Processor, 30GB Hard Drive, 1GB DDR2 RAM, DVD/CD-RW Combo, Intel Integrated Graphics, and SigmaTel C-Major Audio. My fiance originally had Windows XP Pro installed and I noticed that when playing any audio, the sound flickers every second or so and it's really annoying. I just recently purchased Windows Vista Ultimate and installed it. I completely formatted the hard drive and did a fresh install, hoping that it was a software problem in Windows XP and the flickering is still there. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I installed the latest driver from Dell when installing Vista.

Dell and sound issues on laptops...hmm, that sounds familiar.

Read over the threads linked in that one, there are several others on the board too, but Dells and sound issues seem to commonly go together.
