I have a serious virus issue. I managed to get Win32\Gaelicum.A on my computer, where it promptly started turning every single .exe file on my computer into garbage. Now i can't do anything, i can boot, but not run anything. I have searched online for solutions and found the vcleaner software that should fix my problem. Except that i have to run it in safe mode, and nothing i do will give me the opeion of selecting it. The websites say press F8, but that just gives me a boot menu that says "select boot first device" and once you do (no matter what you pick, HDD, floppy, CDROM, or removable storage) it boots windows normally. The other suggestion is to run MSCONFIG in windows, but thats no good, because the virus seems to hav got rid of that, i can't run anything, windows just says it can't find it. HELP! how do i get into safe mode?

I hate to say it... but it sounds like you just might have to F-Disk and start over. Do you have an actual re-install disk or an accessible back up? This will, of course, also mean that you will have to reinstall all your programs too. What OS (and service packs) are you running? What virus/spyware protection do you have? Is it updated regularly?

You should press F8 when you first start to see windows run. It appears you have crippled this PC, i'm just not sure how badly yet. Please try to get into safe mode. I have never seen your message before....
