Have a PC not connected to workstation 4 anymore, want to be able to use it as a normal PC. When boots goes straight to workstation logon, would like to load windows 95/98 on but can't even get down to dos to see what else is on the PC.
Questions :
1/ If I wanted to load win95/98 how could I format the drive?
2/ Is there a way of by passing the network logon ?
3/ Any other information that would be relevent so I can use this PC ?
Not knowing anything about workstation 4 I would be grateful for any advice, thanks.

Hello Mcconn and welcome to the Guide,
Hmmmm, a lillte more info might help us.
What OS is on the machine now?
Do you have the original Logon info, and if not can you get it from where the machine came from?
If yes to above, once you get to the desktop, R click on the Network icon and click Properties. In the middle is a dropdown box. Hit the down arrow and select "Windows Logon" and say OK.
If No to above, are you concerned with the contents of the harddrive?
If No, then I recommend a fresh install of the OS.
Do you have any diagnostic or installation software?(OS, bootdisk,Partition Magic...)
That should get us going http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Hi and Welcome,
You will need a floppy boot disk. You can download one at www.bootdisk.com. (http://www.bootdisk.com.) Make sure you get one for the OS you're planning to install and make sure it has CD-ROM support. Oh, and make sure your boot disk has Fdisk.exe and Format.exe on it as well.
Next, you will have to enter BIOS setup on that machine and make sure the boot sequence is set to boot from floppy first.
Then, boot up using the floppy boot disk that you will have created. Use Fdisk to remove any partitions and create new ones. Format them and then install the OS of your choice.
If unsure how to go about the above, post back.
Good luck.
