What excactly are system resources as viewed in System Properties?
When I bootup, i have about 86% free, then after using the computer for a while and close everything, taking me back to just running the programs that start on bootup, the % free is much lower. Is there a way to free up some resources without rebooting? I have a program that frees up memory from leaky programs but that doesnt seem to help with resouces.
Take a stroll through the pages here (http://www2.whidbey.net/djdenham/Window_memory.htm), the is a pretty good description of what they are and what to do ...but basically the only way to recover is with a reboot. But all is not lost because some of what is lost is used by commonly used dlls so they are ready for the next program...

Good link MJC
I almost went blind reading it but still good http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif. I wish the author of the site would have picked a more aesthetic background image that didn't make the text so hard to read. Of course it's 3:05 am so that might also be the problem.

Thanks mjc, good explanation at that sight, but i agree with the others, that background sticks and they didnt have to use a huge font....good info though.
