See Free Photoshop Action for Red Eye Removal (http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/qt/redeyeaction.htm).
Downloaded the zip file, and unpacked the atn file, and [as per instructions] added the feature to the "Actions Palette".
But when I then follow the instructions to remove red eye from an image, it just does NOTHING when I hit "Ctrl+F5".
Anyone know where I'm going wrong?
You're not using the Redeye reduction in Irfanview?!?! ;)
Have you tried the other methods? Are you stuck in 'read only' mode?

"You're not using the Redeye reduction in Irfanview?!?!"
IrfanView now installed as portable program and running.
Photo with redeye is open in viewer.
Tried Redeye reduction after selecting a rectangular region using the mouse cursor, but it didn't do anything when I hit "Shift+Y". :confused:
The file's "Read-only" property isn't set.

Using GIMP I managed to...
(a) Open a photo.
(b) Magnify it [200%].
(c) Go to Tools->Paint Tools->Airbrush.
As it happened by chance, the diameter of the selection region was an exact match to the size of the pupil, and all I needed to do was position it and click.
That produced a reduction in the intensity of the red-eye with each click.
What's needed is to be able to increase/decrease the diameter of the selection region.
Does no good to magnify even more because the region stays in proportion to the eye.
Anyone know how to do that? :)

Discovered that I can use the brush toolbox to specify different brush sizes. :)
This changes the diameter of the selection region.
Got to it at:
(a) File->Dialogs->Create new dock->Brushes patterns and gradients
This opens the window that can be docked or not as is desired.
I left it undocked.
(b) Selected the Brushes tab and chose a fuzzy edge circle of suitable size to match the pupil.

1. Now figured how to use Tools->Color Picker to save a color, then use one of the Tools->Paint Tools [e.g. Paintbrush] and choose a suitable brush size.
(a) First choose a dark color [hair or shadow] and paint it in as a pupil.
(b) Then choose a highlight color [near white] and choose a much smaller brush size to paint in a highlight off centre of the pupil.
Here's the end result.

or use marque tool, mark the location that you want to make it red.. then use hue and saturation.. though I'm not sure if that's possible with P5, I'm on to Photoshop CS Versions btw.
