I would like to know where I could find the latest video card driver version. My video card is a VIA Chrome9 HC IGP, and systemrequirementslab.com says that my driver version is currently 6.14.10.0075-15.13.15.08. I have no idea where I can get the newest one if there is one. Thanks very much in advance!

Please provide more info about the machine this is in...

is this an onboard video or is it an add-on. i had just fixed my friend's computer and he had an onboard video and the graphics looked choppy when installed xp. so i went to the website of the motherboard manufacture and found the driver. to find the motherboard model number simply open up the case and find some bold numbers labeled on the board. best of luck

visit the manufacturer's website. That's where you'll get your new drivers.

That particular graphics setup is usually found in a laptop...so yeah, it would most likely be onboard, Dubb.

And, yeah, the laptop manufacturer would be the place to start.

Here is the info on my computer:
1.) It is a desktop, but the graphics card is onboard
2.) My motherboard is an MSI (Micro-Star International) K9VGM-V
3.) Graphics card is a VIA Chrome9 HC IGP
4.) My Processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core
5.) And I have 2 GB of DDR2 RAM

And I don't think that any of the other stuff matters at all.
The reason I am asking this is because I recently got this computer and the first game I installed was F.E.A.R., and when I played it it ran terribley. I could put the Processor and RAM settings at maximum, but for the videocard I could only run it at the bare minimum settings for it to get a decent framerate. If I changed it to still bad looking graphics the framerate would drop down to about 5 frames a second. My video card meets all the requirements, and www.systemrequirementslab.com said that I even have the recommended amount of everything.

I looked at the manufacturor's website for my motherboard (since the graphics card is on that) and I didn't know where to look or what to download to get the drivers.
Also, I don't know if that is even the problem since I know practically nothing about computers.

Any help would be much appreciated and thanks for all the replies so far!

The drivers aren't going to help. You have onboard video and that is not going to run FEAR. It sure isn't going to run it well, in any case. You shouldn't expect to be able to run any games at all with that hardware.
You can download the most recent motherboard drivers, your video drivers will most likely be bundled with that... however, no matter what you do your onboard video will never run games well.
Invest in a dedicted PCI-E video card like Nvidia GeForce 8800GT, or if $200 is too rich for your blood at the very least get a geforce or radeon video card with 256 mb of onboard VRAM or better.

Hey Heartborne, my graphics card is good enough to run F.E.A.R. It meets all the recommended.

It has 128 MB, which I know isn't much but its enough to run the game at the recommended settings.

It has Pixel and Vertex Shader both version 2.0 and everything else it needs

I doubt that you even read my post above, because I clearly say that my graphics card should be able to run the game.

Not only do I meet the minimum requirements for the graphics card, but have the RECOMMENDED ones too.

It is not 128MB...it is 128MB shared. That means it steals 128MB of the slower system RAM to use for video RAM (Video RAM is almost always faster than system RAM...both raw speed and latencies wise). Also, with onboard video some of the processing is carried out by the CPU.

The rule of thumb is, to have good performance in games, with onboard video, you not only need to meet the RECOMMENDED requirements, but actually beat them by a fairly large margin.

With your current setup, you probably would have only moderate settings and frame rates in TES III:Morrowind.

Lakai, you haven't got a graphics card. You've got onboard video. I don't care what the spec is. As mjc said, that is shared memory which means you need 128 mb of system memory free in order for that to be used.
Again, minimum system requirements are what is needed to run the game without receiving an error message. The game is still going to run like crap.
Quit arguing the point and go buy yourself a video card. For $100 you can get an 8800 gt 256 mb and there are even cheaper options if you don't want to spend that. Even 8600 gs would be an improvement over what you have.

Oh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up for me, and sorry for how annoying I acted. So now what I would like is a cheap but still alright video card, so how much would the 8600 gs video card cost, where can I find it, and how would I know whether or not its compatible with my computer?

Yeah, your board has a PCI-E x16 slot so any of these...
