Hey Guys,
I just bought some components for a new PC and i assembled it all.
I start it up and go into the bios to check the temp...
The CPU temp is 75 c and the system temp just keeps going up, i normally turn the comp off once it reached 45 c or so...
When i take the side panels off the cpu sits between 45 -55 c and the system will hover around 40 c...
Are these temperatures normal? Could i have the CPU fan mounted incorrectly?
sweet
More like the heatsink under the CPU fan is not seated correctly
and 75 is way to high
45-55 with the side cover off is still to high
Before you remove the heatsink
Place a fan near the open case with it blowing air into the case and start it up
if it goes way down.
then you have an air flow problem
if it doesn't drop down to a much lower temp.
Then it's time to check fan speeds and the proper heatsink seating
Are you using the manufacturers Stock heat Sink? and stock fan ?
Did you remove the plastic cover from the thermal paste under the heatsink before mounting it?
Does the fan cnnect to the Mother board?
using a 2, 3 or 4 pin connector ?
Is it connected to the correct Mother board plug ?

Im running my fans at 99%...
Yes i am using the manufacturer fan and heatsink.
I think the problem could actually be the thermal paste, i dont think i removed the plastic for the thermal paste and then i rubbed it off the cpu and heatsink when i took it all a part again...
The system fan is a 4 pin...the cpu fan is the 4 pin...
Yeah all the things are connected correctly...
So i think i shud get more thermal paste?

Do u think the high system temperature could be a result of the high cpu temp?
If i manage to bring the cpu temp down a lot, will it decrease the system temp at all?
The fan blowing in should reduce the system temp
Telling you that the case has an air flow problem.
BUT if you removed the Thermal paste
and did NOT get more and replace it
Don't waste your time messing with anything
GO GET SOME NOW..
It is required with todays CPU's
Or you could do permanent damage to the chip
