Recently my 3 months old Q6600 behaves very strangely. It used to OCed stable at 3.4Gz for several months but since yesterday it BSOD (blue screen of death) whenever it enters winxp. I have to reset all BIOS setting to "AUTO" and then I can enter winxp. My computer still BSOD when it runs longer than an hour... I am wondering if this is the sign of CPU dying, or MOBO dying, or somehting else... I have ran memtest96+ and reports my ram is ok.

Un-OC it and turn everything back to stock more so the RAM.

Just see what that does

it could be
-MOBO chipset overheating
-RAM overheating
-MOBO not liking RAM speed
-CPU is to hot

i have BSOD when i OC my RAM, i can get my FSB at 1600Mhz but i have to keep my RAM at 800Mhz or it BSOD

Edit: Also signs of dead/dieing MOBO or CPU are
-Major hang on BIOS
-No boot
-Screaming noise coming from on board speaker
-Tears from the owner

George has it right... overclocking can be alot of fun but it can cause issues. It's hard to be sure about what the exact cause is in a case like this, but putting everything back and stock speeds should get rid of your BSOD... then you can maybe try very carefully oc'ing little by little until you get to a stable setting...

unless your overclocking killed one of your components, which unfortunately does happen sometimes.
