View Full Version : Bios doesnt recognize hard drive (GatewayGT5028)

Hi all, I am putting a new hard drive in my Gateway GT5028 paperweight, and am trying to get the bios to recognize it. Auto-detect has failed. Here are my specs:

Processor AMD Athlon 64 X2 2 GHz

Chipset NVidia nForce 410

Installed Memory 1 GB (DDR SDRAM)

Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition

EDIT: Using Phoenix CMOS Setup Utility

Presumably an IDE drive.
Try resetting the CMOS.
Consider a new CMOS battery.
Double check cables and connections - consider a new cable.
Try the drive in another PC's BIOS.
